Gold Mine Thrift LLC aims to provide a unique shopping experience to our customers, offering one-of-a-kind goods at a great value in a clean and organized space. By design we are environmentally conscious, recycling all metal, cardboard and electronics, and sending unsellable but still wearable clothing to an international company that gets it to developing countries. We appreciate donations, and make sure they don’t end up in the landfill whenever possible!
Gold Mine Thrift opened in 2012 through the vision and hard work of the original owner, who had the idea of giving back to the community and helping local charities in Summit County. She believed in not letting perfectly good stuff go to waste, and knew the value of the ‘treasure hunt’- “you never know what you’ll find!”
Now under the new ownership of longtime Dillon resident Wendy Kunz, who purchased the shop in July 2018, this locally loved thrift shop will continue to serve the local community and visitors of Summit County with quality vintage thrift and threads generated by donations of friends like you!
Wendy has a marketing background and an entrepreneurial spirit, taking on this new venture while husband Tim runs his own small business, Kunz Plumbing & Heating. She brings a neighborly atmosphere to the store and tries to help visitors and locals alike come in and ‘dig up a deal’! Continuing the ideals of the original owner, she curates the collection in the shop with high standards, focused on fashion and ski wear, decor, and select furniture pieces. Look for her to increase her social media presence and become an online seller in the near future, as well as continued changes to the main showroom for shopping ease and efficiency.
